1. Barbara Baynton

Barbara Janet Ainsleigh Baynton (1857–1929) was an Australian writer. Born in Scone, New South Wales, she later moved to a property near Leopold, Victoria. Her collection of short stories, titled "Bush Studies," published in 1902, explored themes of life in the Australian bush and remains an important piece of Australian literature.

2. Brian Naylor

Brian Naylor (1931–2001) was a renowned Australian television presenter and newsreader. Born in Leopold, he began his broadcasting career at a radio station in Geelong before moving on to Channel Nine Melbourne. He became one of Victoria's most loved and trusted newsreaders, delivering news to millions of viewers for over 40 years.

3. Cliff Young

Clifford "Cliff" Young (1922–2003), affectionately known as "The Mighty Cliffy," was an Australian potato farmer and long-distance runner. Born in Beeac, a nearby town close to Leopold, Cliff Young gained national recognition by winning the inaugural Sydney to Melbourne Ultramarathon in 1983 at the age of 61, surprising the sporting world with his unconventional shuffle-run technique.

4. Timothy Hutton

Timothy Hutton (born 1960) is an American actor, director, and producer. While not from Leopold itself, his father Jim Hutton, who was also an actor, was born in Leopold, Victoria, before relocating to the United States. Timothy Hutton has had a successful career in film and television, receiving critical acclaim and various awards for his performances.

5. Mick Malthouse

Mick Malthouse (born 1953) is a highly regarded Australian rules football coach. Although not born in Leopold, Mick Malthouse spent a significant part of his childhood in Leopold and played junior football in the area. He went on to become one of the most successful AFL coaches, leading both the West Coast Eagles and Collingwood Football Club to premiership victories.

6. Matthew Dellavedova

Matthew Dellavedova (born 1990) is an Australian professional basketball player. He was born in the town of Maryborough, which is near Leopold, Victoria. Dellavedova gained international recognition for his time in the National Basketball Association (NBA) playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning the NBA championship with them in 2016. He has also represented the Australian national basketball team.

7. Lisa McCune

Lisa McCune (born 1971) is an Australian actress. Although not from Leopold itself, she grew up in the general region and attended school in Geelong, close to Leopold. Lisa McCune is well-known for her role as Senior Constable Maggie Doyle in the television series "Blue Heelers" and has received numerous accolades for her acting, including multiple Gold Logie Awards.
